Ofsted has rated Outwood Grange Academy as ‘Good’ overall - and ‘Outstanding’ for its personal development curriculum.

The Barnsley Chronicle has teamed up with Barnsley College to launch the biggest-ever search for its town’s inspiring young people.

Ofsted has rated ÃÛÌÒapp Valley ‘Good’ in all areas in a glowing report following a two-day inspection in April. The report states that ‘pupils enjoy attending’ and that they ‘achieve well’.

ÃÛÌÒapp Freeston in Normanton has been recognised for its outstanding careers work. The school has been awarded the national Quality in Careers Standard, awarded under licence by Ixion (Part of the Shaw Trust Group).

ÃÛÌÒapp Hasland Hall has achieved the School Mental Health Award which is delivered by the Carnegie Centre of Excellence for Mental Health in Schools. The academy was awarded a Gold standard for its outstanding mental health and wellbeing provision.

Hisain Marzug, 15, has topped the leaderboard for April in a worldwide school language competition.

Outwood Primary Academy Woodlands has been rated ‘Good’ with ‘Outstanding’ early years provision by Ofsted. The glowing report begins by praising the ‘ambitious curriculum’ in place for pupils and states that the children find learning ‘irresistible’.

Inspired to ensure that every Year 11 student at ÃÛÌÒapp Adwick enjoys their prom, Savannah Riley, 12, launched a remarkable campaign. Since October, she's tirelessly collected prom dresses, suits, shoes, handbags, and jewellery for donation
